Homeless Empowerment Program
Workforce Development Manager · Clearwater, FL
Launched the workforce development program from nothing and ran it out of the North Greenwood Adult Education & Workforce Development Center on HEP's campus.
- Built a digital intake process specific to employment — a gap the standard homeless-services database doesn't cover
- Opened the program to the surrounding community, not only HEP residents; the only program on campus available to both
- Designed a repeatable monthly career fair giving local employers a place to meet and interview candidates face to face
- Hosted partner programming including AMSKILLS boot camps and United Way financial literacy classes
- Wrote grants that brought in restricted funding to stand up and sustain programming
Two years after I left, the program operates as HEP’s Pathways to Employment - still open to the community, still running job expos, still hosting partner agencies on campus. A system that needs its builder isn't a system. This one didn't.
